Review: and Everything in its Case – I think that’s how the saying goes. As you may have noted from some of my other reviews, I am a case collector. I always have some gadget that I want to store safely away or maybe just to keep it together with its accessories. I put cases into two categories – Hard (or Rigid) Cases and Soft Cases. Some of the soft cases are firm and some are just flimsy. My biggest complaint is when the firm cases are shipped crushed and you can’t get them back into shape.This Ltgem Case is purposely made for a Samsung T7 Shield SSD. I did not get it for its intended purpose, but just for generic use as I mentioned above. It falls into the category of hard cases. I have a few observations about the construction. As the case closes, it starts to bind early on the hinge side. Along with this tight closure, the zipper tends to bind as I close around the corners. If you try to close the case and not zipper it, it pops open – no big deal, just an observation. The other thing that I noticed is that the internal elastics are very stiff – not stretchy.

Review: Even though this protective case is specifically advertised for the T7/T7 Shield, I checked its dimensions before ordering to see if a Samsung T7 Touch Portable SSD I’d recently purchased would fit…the measurements were close enough to be comparable, so I went ahead and got it.If you look at the product illustrations for this case, the manufacturers suggest placing the drive itself on the side with the single wide elastic band (to hold it in place), and any included peripherals (cords, etc.) on the side with the elastic fabric pouch. The interior space within this case is a touch (pardon the pun) larger than my drive, so I found that the opposite works best for me: I place my drive in the side with the elastic fabric pouch, and store my cables in the side with the wide elastic band. Even so, the T7 Touch still has some extra room, so you will have some movement within the case when it’s closed and you’re shaking it or moving it around…but I think that’s fine, given that this case seems to be fairly well padded, and the fact that the T7 Touch is a solid state drive, which means general movement and vibration shouldn’t effect it. Personally, I feel this case should do not just for the T7/T7 Shield, but any other similarly-sized portable drives out on the market.
