Title: Good product, app, and support
Review: UPDATED 15/1/23: I fitted our new DB2 doorbell a few weeks ago. Executive summary is that the device is well designed and good value, but certain installation scenarios are problematic and the Android app is was buggy at first, but support identified and fixed the problem I was seeing.In more detail:One of the reasons I decided on this model was inclusion of the inclined mounting plates. However, the supplied screws are not long enough to fix these plates, and finding others that were both long enough and with a small enough head was not easy. Eventually found some at Screwfix. Note that I contacted EZVIZ Support about this and they were hopeless and failed to understand the issue.The design of the device, with the wireless chime and local storage is very good – I’m not in favour of paying subscriptions for cloud storage so this is perfect.Once installed it worked well enough. The picture is sharp although, in my situation, daytime callers are backlit and their faces are quite dark.The app was where the problem lay. I have installed it on my Android 13 phone and have disabled battery optimisation for the app as recommended. The app works well enough but then, every day or 2, push notifications stopped working. The only way to get them working again was to force stop the app and start it again. The same issue affected my wife’s Android 13 phone as well. Reading the reviews for the app in the Google Play store, other people are also getting the same problem.I reported this to EZVIZ Support. It took a couple of weeks and some toing and froing, but they ultimately made a fix and it has worked perfectly since then.Taking everything into consideration, a 5* product.

Title: Doesn’t last!
Review: Second time this product has failed. Camera lasts less than a year then becomes foggy with moisture and no way of rectifying. It was replaced first time but no option to contact customer service this time. If it’s an outdoor product then make it properly waterproof!

Title: Nice equivalent to ring
Review: I chose EZVIZ as I already had some of their cameras and I like the fact that I can have them all under one storage subscription. This doorbell is very easy to use, although can be a little glitchy sometimes. The camera video quality is very good although the talkback feature when people ring the doorbell can take a while to load which can be frustrating if there is someone at the door and you aren’t home. It does run solely off WiFi so if your internet connection isn’t the best or if your WiFi goes down a lot then be prepared to not have a working doorbell. I like the chime options and overall I am happy with my purchase.

Title: Good picture, annoying sotware
Review: There are quite a few good points – picture quality is good, even in low light and darkness. Local storage option on the bell (inside the house) means no subscriptions. I’d like to have separate settings for motion detection (recording) vs notification – it’s just one distance setting for both, and more control over sensitivity, but what it does is not bad.But the app it comes with is not great. It can be buggy and has been fiddly to connect. After the device completely ran out of battery (I didn’t have notifications on at that point), I fully charged it and turned it back on. But the doorbell wouldn’t reconnect to the device. I ended up deleting it and starting again.The usability of the software is not great either. Take this example – another time, the doorbell is reporting a low battery through the app, which is a nice feature. It’s showing as 20%, so I thought I’d recharge it and avoid the hassle I had last time. I have the tamper alert feature on – meaning if the device is removed from the front of the house, a loud alarm goes off on it, unless you’ve disabled the tamper feature beforehand. All good so far. But when I go to the device in the app and tap settings, it’s telling me there’s a firmware update available for the doorbell – I cannot access the settings, nor go back. The only option is to update, so I select that. It displays a progress bar at 0%, then 30 seconds or so later, shows a Completed dialog. However, it didn’t actually update, and I still can’t get into settings, as the update message appears again.Overall then, a nice bit of hardware, let down by its software.

Review: Purchased this a couple of months ago to catch a light night doorbell ringer. Mission accomplished! Took the video down the street to the offender’s house and showed his Dad, you should have seen the look on his face. Not a happy man. I didn’t want something I had to have a subscription to. This has a micro-SD card slot in the inside ringer that records video when triggered. Works great. Battery life is decent, over 2 months on one charge. No hassle recharging. I give it two thumbs up!

Review: A close friend of mine referred me to EZVIZ products. They have a a slew of security cameras at their house and the features and picture quality was by far superior to other brands. He was advised by a buddy of his who works in IT and has a passion and knack for technology and advised him to purchase these cameras. I needed to replace my existing video doorbell. The picture quality was garbage and I found I was re-charing the unit every 2 weeks whereby it was advertised that you wouldn’t need to recharge for 4 to 6 months. False advertising in my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised knowing that EZVIZ manufacturered a video door bell and have been enjoying it every since.Highlights- Unit is slightly large and stands out which can act as a deterrent to let anyone know they are on camera. I have a grey door and opted to buy this colour and surprisingly it matched .- It comes with a Door Chime that allows you to insert a SD Card to save images. This is in the event you don’t purchase their Cloud Service. Other doorbells you need to buy this unit separately.- Picture Quality is 2K+ and is reaking amazing. Just stunning. I literally can see everything infront of my house as well as across the street. Night vision is perfect and again, no issues with quality at all. This is a big game changer versus my previous doorbell.- Front Door Detection works extremely and you can customize easily. You can set up PIR Infrared Detection as well as Loitering Detection for anyone that is standing in your front porch. You can customize accordingly.- Wi-Fi Setup is seamless and easy with your Device’s.- Instant notifications on your Device- Battery Life thus far is amazing. I have this unit for approximately a month and am at 93% Battery Life.Dislikes- If this unit was slightly slimmer, it would be a huge game changer.Absolutely in love with this unit. EZVIZ is owned by Hikvision which manufacturers video surveillance equipment for both personal and military use.
