Title: Faultless
Review: This HDMI transmitter/receiver from Aimibo is so easy to set up and use. Truly ‘plug and play’, just plug the receiver into an HDMI port on the target device and plug the transmitter into the source device output HDMI. Power it up by plugging the USB cable into a 5v supply, press the button and the transmitter and receiver automatically connect within seconds. The quality of the broadcast picture is faultless, even in 4K. I have used this to stream movies from my living room TV to my TV in my garden cabin, I have also used it from my PC to a projector two rooms away for transmitting Winamp visualisations and music for a party, and on all occasions, there has been no lag or dropping out of video or audio and the quality is always superb. Clear instructions and all necessary cables and adaptors are included, however, you will need two separate USB power sources at 5v 2a. Highly recommended.

Title: An added level of convenience
Review: This is actually quite handy for a number of situations, it helps to avoid clutter, great if your device is not close to the screen and easy to use on the move.What you will need is available HDMI ports and USB sockets, both units will require USB to power the devices.The setup is actually pretty easy and within minutes I was ready to go with these. I used them on my TV and connected a small PC to it.The one downside I did note is that at 4K the refresh rate is maxed at 30MHz, this can be a bit low if you want a good refresh rate.But as a convenient item to that gets rid of the cable tangle is this is a nice option that does the job pretty well.

Review: I already had what I thought was a similar device but in fact it was identical except branded differently. The main reason I thought this one might be different and presumably superior in some way was that the older one was £89 and this one, at the time of ordering via amazon vine, was £129.I had the other one in continuous use and have been using this one in its place for 10 days. It has not lost its connection and unsurprisingly works as perfectly as the original device. One of them is about to be used at my secondary address.I gave the original item received last November 4 stars rather than 5 due to the high price but it would seem unfair to give this just 3 stars despite its excessive price as the product itself is very good.The following is my slightly amended review of the first item received:I ordered this planning to view the output of my Virginmedia box on another large screen TV. For many years have had a setup to view it via an analogue signal that’s inserted via an inline modulator into the TV aerial downlead prior to the aerial amplifier/distributor, with the box controlled via Marmitek wireless remotes, but the picture is not that great on a large screen TV, though ok in bedroom and kitchen.For convenience I first tried it on a TV that is on the same floor with 9.8m and 2 internal, non-structural walls between transmitter and receiver. It worked absolutely perfectly. Watched a programme for an hour and there were no glitches of any kind. Was very impressed. Have a powered HDMI splitter so that the ‘usual’ TV also gets its HDMI connection.Then tried it at its intended site, which is on the floor below with (according to Pythagoras) 10.8m of air, a floor, one internal wall and one structural wall between the transmitter and receiver. It worked, but not so well. There was a slight sound lag that was obvious when viewing someone speaking or with snooker where the sound of the balls hitting was a fraction of a second after they hit. Also, there was a very slight staggering of the video but only really noticeable on the moving ‘news tickertape’ along the bottom of the screen on news channels and a couple of times with fast-moving objects. People moving around the room often caused obvious glitches by impairing the signal. I intend to try an HDMI extension lead to locate the receiver on the other side of the structural wall and am optimistic it will then work perfectly. (IT DOES)Freeview HD picture quality, compared directly on the TV and via this set-up (even downstairs from a Freeview HD box upstairs) was indistinguishable apart from the HDMI Tx/Rx output being minimally brighter.It is said to have a 50m working distance but that is directly, with no obstructions. Although I could not check that, I wouldn’t doubt it.Mini and micro-HDMI adapters are provided for use with cameras etc.Although up to 8 transmitters can be paired with 1 receiver (connecting 1 at a time) a transmitter can only be paired with 1 receiver, which may be a slight disappointment for some users, though at £80 each if bought separately you’d be better buying another full set.Mine needed to be paired initially and re-paired having been unused and disconnected for a week, but very easily done and has remained paired since then.Overall, I think this is really good provided that the effect of obstructions is accepted. Vastly superior to old videosenders, both in range and also obviously in AV quality. Quite expensive.

Review: The AIMIBO Wireless HDMI kit ships as a back with two HDMI pucks and usb power cables/ receivers. The pucks are labelled RX for receiver and TX for transmitter. The pack includes some HDMI adaptors for mini and micro devices (this would make it useful as an HDMI transmitter for cameras. The devices have a small latency; its sub second but if are mirroring screens from a computer or tablet its very noticeable.One thing I do like is you can press the button on the transmitter and the screen shows an information page; but it confirms the system is transmitting fine even if your computer is having issues. It is from here you get the details of the transmitters Wi-Fi that allows you to connect to it and change settings through a simple web app.Aimibo say it’s a 4k solution; I spent a while trying to figure out the 4k setting what I had done wrong before finding it in the manual. This included connecting the system up to my home WIFI, upgrading the software on the dongles and in the end downloading and reading through the manual. The manual says 4k is only available when casting from a phone or tablet without using the transmitter. If you use the transmission dongle to get video out, you are limited to 1080P 60Hz.My MacBook offers the dongle as a remote connect via screen mirroring menu; without the dongle; when connected it was still limited to 1080p. I don’t have an android tablet to try and get 4k; but as an adhoc solution it’s easy to get 1080p which is good enough for most uses. When used with the wireless monitor feature the lag was more noticeable than when using the dongle. It does offer a good choice for a meeting room wireless display though.If you want to use it to share video from a camera it works fine and could be useful in a conference scenario if running cables isn’t an option. I could get video to stream about 25m through a couple of walls so an open room shouldn’t be a big issue.For me it’s not 4k hence 3 stars; if you have a tablet that it will stream 4k from its easy to reccomend. That 4k claim needs a big asterisk in the title. It is a great way to wireless connect a screen; so, for me makes it into my work travel wires bag. If you have old screens in an office, it’s a good way to convert them over to support wireless video.

Review: Item arrived on time.I’m using it to cast my HDMI picture signal from my iPad to my Sony TV. Works brilliantly to get the streaming picture to the TV.It would be over the top if the receiver had mounting holes to secure it.The transmitter gets pretty warm to the touch. Not burning hot but noticeably very warm.
