Review: These screws have a smooth neck and will very strongly pull two pieces of wood together — which is what a pocket hole does. They are self tapping, so they don’t require pilot holes in soft wood (though it is advisable anyway near the end of a board to avoid splitting). Be advised they require a #2 square bit
