Review: These tile and the glass nips are the best most thought out I’ve ever used in 45 years of tiling. Thx marshalltown for a superior pair of nips, the quality is measureable as soon as you handle them and when you put them to a tile you’ll be amazed at the comfort and ease at which they will go through a tile. Porcelain does not slow them down, very effective and the glass nips front and side nips are excellent as well. These nips do not struggle to get your job done. But any one and you will have to have the other two. These are not the ones sold at Lowe’s, those are basic nippers and are mediocre so stay away from those.

Review: I’ve used these nippers almost daily for the past (1) year. Perhaps I have reached the intended lifespan for this product but I had hoped for more.THE GOOD: First, allow me to say that the nippers work very well for the intended purpose. I’ve been able to cut/shape almost all tile (wall and floor tile both ceramic and porcelain) with the exception of some of the thicker porcelain tiles. I have no issue with the overall capability of this tool.THE BAD: There is a critical design flaw pertaining to the way the replaceable nipper blades/tips are attached. Each tip is held in place with a pitifully small hex screw with a built-in countdown to failure. I found that the screws loosened over time and would have to be tightened with GREAT regularity. At worst I was tightening the screws after each nip of tile. Ridiculous! Furthermore it’s a challenge to really crank the screws tight due to the extremely small screw head size (think: mini screwdriver for electronics repair).Ultimately the integrity of one attachment screw was compromised to the point that it broke off with the lower half still embedded in the threads of the nipper head. Huge headache! I drilled the section of broken screw and rethreaded the hole with a more durable screw. Problem solved, right?Only one week later the OTHER screw stripped out and could no longer be tightened. It just spins around in place and will have to be rethreaded.I love the idea of replaceable tungsten steel tips but not at the cost of functionality. Why replace tips on a tool that can’t hold up to repeated use? I spent $100 for the nipper tool plus 2 sets of replacement tips. Is it too much to expect them to last for more than a year?
