Review: So far, after just a brief use, I love this thing. Sound quality is very good, clarity of playback is very good, battery life is very good, price for features is very good.Love the touch screen integration which makes for a very easy to use device. This is very little set up required, just a few simple things. The transcription AI is fairly good and the all aluminum body seems very durable. Not sure about the touch screen (might scratch easy, or even break on a simple fall) but i have had no problems yet.Overall this is a great recorder, with a very good interface, quality of spund and durability seems great also. 23 century recorder available now!!

Review: I am quite impressed with the recorder, particularly its design, which is a standout feature for me. Its sleek aesthetic brings to mind the Juke phone from years ago. However, I have encountered a challenge: when connecting it to a computer to download files, the text files are somewhat difficult to read and manage compared to the clarity on the physical device. I am currently exploring more effective methods for transposing these files into a format that enhances readability. Nonetheless, I was sufficiently impressed to order two additional units for my employees.

Review: âš  CAPACITY IN TITLE IS MISLEADING: While it does ship with the promised 72GB of memory, this is split between 8GB on-board (Roughly 5.6GB after OS/Filesystem requirements) and a 64GB microSD (already inserted) card. So it’s not a self-contained 72GB, so to speak. It is an important distinction to make – technically, you’re getting 72GB, but it is not self-contained on the unit.Quality:Built well, looks good, nice and solid. Battery lasts okay. The side buttons can be a little muddy for the press, however – but they do work. It’s the size of a normal brand-name chocolate bar.EASE OF USE:I’d say it’s pretty pedestrian. Uses common design paradigms in its interface, has a tips thing that shows with each new section visited to clarify its usage and using a dictaphone isn’t exactly rocket science.Controls:Lots of customizability and settings – be sure to set the time. It’s calibrated to BEIJING time by default. I imagine if you want this for record keeping, an accurate timestamp is a must.The unit seems to be based on Android. Or at least, its interface is uncannily similar. With that said, it’s heavily modded if so. The touch screen is responsive, offers enough space for most functionality, and is relatively intuitive to use. This thing is definitely feature packed, almost every page I went to for the first time had a bunch of tutorial points for it!Because of the touch screen, the unit really shines as a single device to handle recordings, without the need for a fancy studio. I haven’t detected a ton of difference in the modes for recording it offers, but the recording was generally crisp and of a decent quality. Those more familiar with professional use of a dictaphone may disagree, however – but for a commoner, it seems perfectly usable.TRANSCRIPTION QUALITY (from English speech, native speaker – see end of review for sample, same as in audio clip): So, depending on the environment, the quality of transcription you get will be markedly different. It’s very bad with environmental interference (ie, no hope on a windy day) – however, if you have a clear environment like say a lecture or library, and speak clearly yourself (no excessive pitch, nor singing or anything) it is actually quite capable. It comes with the ability to tap off marks in the transcription for what I assume are important points in say, an interview, for later reference.Also, note: it does not censor. If you say mean words, it will record mean words.If I were to give it an accuracy percentage for the transcription, in a clear environment, I’d probably put it at high 70% to low 80%. It’s definitely not to AI-era quality for the voice recognition, but it is pretty darn good. In other words, don’t expect this to transcribe as Siri or Copilot or Alexa or Assistant would in terms of accuracy.On the whole, I’m liking it for an audio journal project of mine, and the transcription is definitely helpful for collecting my thoughts in a searchable manner.OTHER FEATURES OF NOTE:- Ability to put a security key on the unit (not encryption, I don’t think – but it’ll stop folks from using it directly to listen to or access content)Points lost for the transcription only being about a B+, and misleading marketing regarding the 8GB/64GB thing since that is actually important, even if technically correct.========================== Overall View: [😊] ==== – 😦🙁😐😊😀 + ==========================Media Used: Video to demonstrate its audio recording quality. Review: I bought it just for having a ‘lecture’ mode. And, thankfully, even in a large lecture hall with lots of students, it picks up our professor’s voice very well. Just as advertised! I haven’t learned all of its control features yet, but it’s easy enough to operate without knowing everything. I got my first lecture transferred via USB cable to my laptop, but haven’t figured out how to get the recorder to link via Bluetooth yet.
