Title: Stylish and plastic-free where it counts
Review: This is one of a handful of truly plastic-free kettles, insofar as there are no internal plastic parts. Even the removable limescale filter is silicone and steel. Having a glass chamber means the usual plastic water level viewing window found on other “BPA free†kettles isn’t necessary.The cake icing is its unique eye-catching styling. I find that the handle is ergonomic and the kettle sits sturdily on its base. It does wobble slightly at full vigorous boil but that is to be expected. I have seen reviews about issues with these not reaching boiling point. I have not experienced this. It takes roughly the sand time to boil 1.5l as my previous rapid boil kettle, and has a similar noise level.The only niggle is the lid and handle do get rather hot, but they are metal (!) so as long as you either don’t need to refill straight away, or have an oven glove handy, you’ll be fine. The kettle comes with an interchangeable full plastic lid handle, which I imagine wouldn’t hold as much heat. Max fill line is at 1.5 litres. Plenty. If filled to the line, a few splashes of water will escape the spout when it boils, but this is no different to other kettles I’ve owned. I live in a semi-soft water area and use a water filter, so can’t comment on the appearance of limescale buildup as, for me, there is none.Overall, a beautiful, practical, ergonomic kettle, in which water only comes into contact with steel and glass surfaces. Value for money given the material construction.

Title: Pretty and Well Made
Review: I love my new kettle! Was replacing a silver DeLonghi Argento which was a design classic but died after 10 years and I was gutted as they don’t make that colour anymore. The Ascot is a nice, compact size and looks great in my new kitchen. As with other new kettles I’ve had, there is a funny taste to the water when leaving it in for a long time and reboiling but I expect that will fade with use, and when I use fresh water for every boil then I can’t taste anything. The kettle ships with an alternative and additional totally plastic black handle for the lid (same design but completely black), which I guess you could use if you were someone who needed several jugs full of water in quick succession and needed to take the lid off soon after boiling as the plastic and metal one does get quite hot because of the steam, but it doesn’t bother me for normal cuppa usage. Someone else in the reviews mentioned the base not matching the kettle but mine does perfectly as you can see in the pic. It’s quick and quiet when in use and I like watching the bubbles (which don’t splash out of the spout like another reviewer mentioned.) It feels like a well made and sturdy item and I hope it will last as long as my last kettle did. Never thought I’d be this excited about a kettle but here we are!

Title: Kettle doesn’t boil water properly.
Review: I bought this kettle because it has a good review and I like the design, suits well with my new kitchen. However when we first bought the kettle after just a few days, it automatically switched off before reaching boiling level. So we had to manually push down the switch to let the water boil properly. So obviously I returned it. I decided to give it a second chance because like i said when I read the reviews they are good and I really like the design. However to our dismay the second kettle is worse! It not only automatically switches off before water reach boiling point the lever switch remained down so we can’t even manually push it down to keep the water up to boiling point!I’m truly disappointed because I will mention here again I really like the design and now I have no choice but to return and look for another brand/design.

Title: Great kettle, but some flaws
Review: First off the Kettle looks great, it boils pretty quite, and pours really nice,On off switch illuminates with a red glow, min / maximum markings on the glass are only on 1 side and are clear but if your left handed the writing will be at the back of the kettle. Kettle tested and runs close to 2kw.Kettle lid gets hot after a boil so leave it before refilling.There are 2 flaws that are bothersome, first off do not ever put kettle on its base empty, the on/off leaver can be set to on when the kettle is off its cradle thus meaning it will start to heat up once you put it on its cradle.2nd issue, you may think the kettle has a bad leak even though its fine, if you are lazy like me and fill the kettle via the spout water can run down the side of the kettle and sit in the rim where the bottom of the glass makes contact with the metal rim at the bottom of the kettle, once you boil the kettle this water heats up and when you pour the kettle into a cup the resevoir you made runs out. It hit my feet really warm.Now that I know these things it wont happen again.Overall love the kettle.

Review: Pro’s: looks nice, no plastic taste, healthy drinks, pours ok if done slowly.Con’s: slightly wobbly (not really a problem), cannot just use enough water for one cup so not as economical as some, takes longer to boil than my old plastic kettle.But the reason for buying is because this was the only kettle I could find which definitely has NO PLASTIC coming in contact with the water and, for this reason, I would recommend it.

Review: We’ve had this kettle for about 4 months now after having had so many glass/no plastic electric kettles fail on us after less than a year or two. This one was recommended by someone I follow stating it was lead-free. We use it several times daily for hot water for coffee but since April, it’s getting almost double daily use making hot water to make sugar water nectar for the hummingbirds. You have to remember to NEVER grab the lid without a pot holder, as the ring on the top is super hot. Otherwise, it’s the most attractive glass tea kettle we’ve had yet – it works fast enough for our purposes, and we really hope it holds up to our regular usage. One other note would be that the spout is all glass – you do have to be careful to not bang/bump it onto anything hard!
