Review: The air outlet in the humidifier cannot be touched in any way. It makes it very difficult to pour water into the unit, and especially to clean it. It is hard to avoid, if you want to really clean the tank. After almost three months, there is black debris coming out with the water. What I have observed is the water, as it runs normally, doesn’t contain any of the black debris I see when emptying the tank. That leaves the choice to the air outlet that is emptying itself.

Review: I do something most won’t though, and that’s to use ZeroWater (filtered) so I never have mineral buildup. It may be fine without it, but I take advantage of the filters when they run out of drinkable water and use that to fill pitchers. If it has some total dissolved solids in it, that won’t really hurt. I’d rather do that than buy a monthly tablet or some such that I need to add to ANY humidifier to keep it healthy. One fill generally lasts me a few nights, and I sleep 9 hours. I put it on the half-way setting and have it next to my bed — directing the nozzle toward it. Prior to using a humidifier, I’d been waking myself up coughing. Then I read that warm-mist ones can actually make your throat swell (not sure if that’s legit but why chance it), so after reviewing several of the cool-mist, I went with this one. Coughing stopped. The unit does not leak. No sputtering of fluid. Just about any humidifier will gurgle from time to time when water levels lower, but this seems so gradual it hardly does. Anyway… really happy!
