Review: Compared to paying a plumber this is cheap.If I use it once in my life it will have paid for itself many times over.It came with gloves, instructions which are nicely detailed, the drum and a plastic handle.From playing around with it, I can see I’ll be using my battery operated drill on it instead of the handle as it gets tiring turning the handle hundreds of turns.The handle is plastic and seems fragile but it didn’t break yet.The instructions point out you can feed the snake out by hand and this is much faster than turning the crank. Feed until you hit the blockage, then crank.I also found pulling the snake back in much faster than cranking, but cranking to retrieve the snake did work but extremely slowly when cranking by hand.Price is similar to my local hardware stores.

Review: The company contacted me after my original and very fair review to apologize and that it was important to them to make it right they offered to send another auger or give a refund. Since the auger still worked, it still seams used or damaged on the outer case, again, I had a clogged tub and could not wait for an exchange. I told the company I appreciated their willingness to make things right- I suggested a 50% refund. In a BIG HAPPY SURPRISE, they insisted on a full refund. It too less then 24 hours for Amazon to process and contact the refund had been made. THERE ARE TOO MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS FOR COMPANIES THAT WE ALL FOCUS ON- THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE CALLED OUT FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING!!! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OLD SCHOOL SERVICE THAT WE ALL USED TO GET WITH SMALLER LOCAL BUSINESSES AND IT IS REFRESHING TO HAVE IT FROM AN ONLINE COMPANY.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AND THIS AUGER. Review: I am editing my review, and changing my star rating to one star.Below this is what I had originally written, beginning with “I think this is a versatile drain snake.” When I actually tried to use this on a clogged drain, the snake would not advance with any force, to clear the clog. And then I also could not get the snake to retract back into the mechanism, by pulling the trigger and turning the crank. I had to manually force the snake back into the holding mechanism. I will be tossing this into the trash, as it is completely useless.Previously I had written:I think this is a versatile drain snake. I say that because it can be used either manually, with the included detachable plastic crank, or with a drill attached instead of the crank. You do have to pull the trigger with some force, to get the catching mechanism to engage to that the snake moves in or out from the reel. Also it took a little bit of maneuvering to get the crank attached. The crank part is plastic, so I also wonder about how durable that will be. Finally the main red part of this unit appears scratched and scuffed, making me wonder if I received a new unit or rather a unit that had been returned.

Review: My daughter is really good at clogging pipes and so I needed something better than the cheap plastic snakes we had purchased in a multi-pack awhile back. For one thing, they are often to short to actually reach where the clog is.This auger with it’s 25ft length is more than sufficient to reach most clogs. It’s also nice that I can use the hand crank or attach and use a drill. If the hand crank action isn’t enough to break up the clog a nice, powerful drill should have a better shot at it.I will be keeping this around for future clogs.
