OPERATION INSTRUCTION
1. Try to use low temperature soldering
High temperature will accelerate the oxidation of the soldering iron tip and reduce the service life of the soldering iron. Please control the operating temperature of the soldering iron reasonably. If the temperature of the soldering iron tip exceeds 470°C, its oxidation rate is twice that of 380°C.
2. Do not apply too much pressure when welding，otherwise the tip of the soldering iron will be damaged and deformed. As long as the iron tip is in full contact with the soldering point, heat can be transferred.
3. Always keep the tip of the soldering iron tinned
This reduces the chance of the tip oxidizing and makes the tip more durable. After use, you should wait for the temperature of the soldering iron tip to decrease slightly before adding new solder, which can make the tinned layer have a better effect of preventing oxidation.
4．The soldering iron tip is not tinned, 80% of the factors are related to your usage habits
If there is black oxide on the soldering iron tip, the soldering iron tip may not be tinned. At this time, it needs to be cleaned. When cleaning, first adjust the temperature of the soldering iron tip to about 250°C, then use a cleaning sponge to clean the soldering iron tip, and then tin it. Repeat the action until the oxide is removed. Be careful not to use sandpaper or hard objects to clean the tip.
5. Use flux with low activity
Flux with high activity or strong corrosiveness will accelerate the corrosion of the soldering iron tip when heated, so a less corrosive flux should be used.
6. When not using a soldering iron, place the soldering iron on the stand to prevent the tip from being damaged by collision.
7. Do not dry burning the tip of the soldering iron, which will affect the service life.
8. Don’t pull the soldering iron tip outward and use it,it will shorten the heating element file.
9. Natural cooling after using.
10. Don’t file the long life tip face.
11. When the soldering iron is plugged in for the first time,there comes out a smoke from tip end.The smoke stops in a short while and smoke never comes out again.
12. If it is not applicable for a long time, please unplug the power cord. For personal safety, please turn off the power switch after the work is completed.
Maintenance of soldering iron tips
1. Before welding
The cleaning sponge must be wetted with water first, and then the excess water must be squeezed out, so that the soldering iron tip can get a better cleaning effect. Using a non-moistened cleaning sponge can damage the tip of the soldering iron and prevent it from tinning.
2. When using for the first time
Pay attention to the temperature rise of the soldering iron tip. When the temperature just melts the solder wire, coat a layer of tin on the tip of the soldering iron, and then raise the temperature to the required temperature. Remember that the tip of the soldering iron should be protected by a layer of tin for a long time in order to achieve better soldering results.
3. After welding
First adjust the temperature to about 250°C, then clean the tip of the soldering iron and add a new layer of tin for protection. (If you use a non-temperature-controlled soldering station, cut off the power first, let the temperature of the soldering iron tip drop slightly before tinning)
