Title: Actually impressed
Review: I wasn’t expecting much from this kettle, beyond boiling water, yet I have to admit to being quite wrong.Build quality feels good, and the device looks good with its matt black finish. When plugged in, the screen displays the temperature of the contents in Celsius, I don’t use Fahrenheit so have not tried to change it.You can just plug it in and use it like any other kettle, and handle all the adjustments on the device itself, but that is only part of the fun. You can use the kettle with the Tuya app to control it from elsewhere. Adding it took some time but got there in the end, I think the instructions could be better here.Once added, though, you can use your phone to set the desired temperature and how long to keep warm for. It does have presets like coffee and tea. You can also dial in your own desired temperature anywhere between 0Â°C and 100Â°C, though obviously it will not cool the water.After adding to Tuya, if you have Tuya installed on Home Assistant, the kettle appears there too with all the same functionality, though without presets, allowing for some really nice routines, such as boiling the kettle when you get out of bed.The kettle does try to honour the desired temperature, but does tend to overshoot by a few degrees. The sides do remain quite comfortable to the touch, the only parts that do get very hot are the spout, and the hinge for the lid. On the subject of the lid, it doesn’t open very far at all, not quite reaching vertical.One thing that is missing, is that I cannot tell how much water is in the kettle without looking inside, there is no gauge on the side, and it isn’t reported in the app. This feels like an oversight. Ideally, I would like to be able to check there is enough water before turning the kettle on remotely.Apart from the lack of ability to check the amount of water, this is a really good kettle.

Title: Voice Control Smart Electric Kettle
Review: This DMD Wi-Fi Touchscreen Smart Kettle at first glance looks much like any other modern jug type kettle. It is supplied with a matching base which has a void in the underside enabling the user to coil any excess mains cable so that it looks neat and tidy. For basic functionality it can be operated by using the touch buttons on the kettle to begin heating water to the desired temperature. It also has a selection of options which are temperature optimised to suit a variety of beverage types.The temperature of the water inside the kettle is clearly displayed in real time and I like that when it is in use it completes the boiling process in steps as it approaches 100 degrees which helps to prevent hot water droplets being expelled from the spout if the kettle is filled near to its capacity. The interior of the kettle is stainless steel which looks like it will be easy to keep clean by using a de-scaler if used in a hard water area.I had no issues connecting the kettle to our Wi-Fi as set out in the instruction booklet. I already had the Smart life app installed on my tablet and once the kettle was paired I could then access additional features including timers and a setting which maintains water temperature for a set period of time. I can also operate the kettle by voice control with either the Smart life app or by using Alexa.Overall I am impressed by the quality and features of this Smart kettle. It does in my opinion look and feel well made with a good selection of user options which I find very convenient to use. I consider it to be reasonably priced when taking account of build quality, ease of use and a range of functions. Recommended.

Title: WiFi Smart Kettle
Review: Modern sleek design, stainless steel coating inside. Kettle is compatible with WiFi connection, Smart LifeApp needs to be downloaded. I thoroughly read instructions unfortunately I could not connect as you need adjust settings on WiFi which is silly in my opinion. So difficult to set up, when you just want to press and go. In addition the kettle built up scales at the bottom within one week of using, so therefore it needs to descaled regularly. What I don’t understand is why there is no filter to stop scales passing through. I also find opening lid annoying, I have to press a few times before it opens just to refill water. In my opinon this is just tech novelty kettle with a modern sleek design, touchscreen works so I will just press to boil and watch water temperature feature.

Title: The ultimate in laziness but concerns on longevity. And it doesn’t know when to stop!
Review: “Alexa! Turn on the kettle!”Bliss. That’s the unique selling point of this kettle from DMD. As long as you remember to fill it up after each use you’re gold. We’re not exactly invested in the Amazon hardware ecosystem but small things like this are quite neat when triggered via our aging Echo Dot.The design of the kettle is really neat too. Clean, modern lines etc. The touch controls work well once you get used to them (hold finger in place instead of pressing). An obvious thing to mention is the spout – no drips!A really neat feature is having the temperature displayed on the side. It takes the mystery out of “is it done yet?”. Unfortunately it seems to be a mystery for the kettle itself though. Unless I’m missing something here – it always seems to re-boil itself 3 times when it hits 100C for some reason.By far the worst part of the design is the ‘button’ for opening the lid of the kettle – it’s in the centre of the lid. You press it down which releases clips on the side – at which point a spring lifts the lid. In theory. If you’ve followed that – basically you are pressing down while the lid tries to push up. I’ve already had several situations where the lid won’t open – most egregiously when you have lifted up the kettle to take it to the tap. I had better ‘luck’ on a flat surface.Looks great, Wi-fi functionality is this sloth’s dream – but the basics let this down. And for Â£59.99 I would have expected better.
