Title: Works well in ceramic tiles.
Review: I used this bit to drill 10 holes in ceramic tiles and also to enlarge 8 holes which I had previously drilled at 6mm. Nice neat holes – no slipping, no tile or glaze cracking. Painted tip gives good depth guide to drill through tile. I think the bit still has plenty of life left. I drilled the holes slowly using a battery operated drill at slow speed. Although it says you don’t need to cool the bit in water – I drilled slowly with frequent dipping of the bit in water, so each hole took about 10 minutes.

Title: Good tool, but expensive
Review: As you’d expect from Bosch, this does the job. As you’d also expect, it’s on the expensive side. In comparison with some much less expensive “no name” spear-pointed carbide drills (also from Amazon) it did not perform noticeably better. It may last longer – I’ll let you know in a year’s time!

Review: For anyone looking to drill holes in porcelain tiles these will work but donâ€™t last too long. Hereâ€™s how I used themâ€¦Firstly, if you try to used them at low speed to keep the heat down it will take about 20 minutes to get through a 10mm porcelain tile. So the way to do this is start off slow until you have a small dimple that can guide the drill, then switch to high speed. Have a bucket of water next to you and dip the drill bit in the water every few seconds to keep it cool and the tile hole wet. Youâ€™ll then be able to get through a 10mm tile in about 2 minutes.I managed to drill 6 holes like this, I think the bit would last for maybe 4 more holes before it was totally blunt.
