Title: Does Its Job
Review: As expected, this double sided heavy duty adhesive tape by 3M does its job of keeping seals and small adapters/brackets in place.Due to the temperature and weather proof properties, this 5608 series adhesive tape is popular in automotive application and is also useful for fixing domestic window/door seals.I have used this for fixing door squeegee seals and night lights in the house with good results.As long as the guideline for using this particular tape is ‘adhered’ to, it should perform as it should.

Review: This is exactly as expected; 3M VHB tape which can be used for various applications but excels at bonding automotive seals to paintwork. I use it for mounting dashcam cradles and it holds very well, even in the current warm weather.

Review: I tend to use double-sided tape mostly for cable management, which helps with attaching peripherals and other gear under the desk which keeps them hidden and out of sight. The current tape I was using wasn’t that strong and my devices would pull away every so often. Hence I decided to get this upgraded tape by FixChord which has the renowned 3M adhesive.The tape is extremely heavy-duty and strong enough to hold all my gear, be it my docking station or charging hubs. It keeps everything secure so I don’t need to worry about the bond loosening and objects detaching. The tape can easily be cut to size and is easy to peel off, it’s 1cm in width and you have 4.7 metres of tape in total.This is an extremely handy product to have at your disposal, that can be used in a variety of ways. It’s ideal for attaching picture frames, posters, and even heavy gear, as I have done.

Review: There are a lot of different specification 3M VHB tapes in the series. Each has a specific use and the method of application differs. This listing on Amazon gives no indication which type this is and it is important to know before buying it. All is made clear when you receive the tape because it is clearly labelled “5608A VHB”, but it is a bit late by then if it doesn’t meet your requirements.To find the full material and use specifications and advice on how to apply this particular tape go to the 3M website and enter the number. This will take you to a pdf document with all the details.This particular tape is described as:“3M 5608 Acrylic Foam Tape is a high performance tape made of grey acrylic foam. The tape is especially qualified for attaching elastomeric parts such as seals to car bodies and doors. 5608 is characterised by its high adhesion to a variety of automobile surfaces. One side of the tape is attached to the painted surface or the respective substrate by a pressure sensitive adhesive. The other side is bonded to the elastomeric part through heat-activation. The heat-activated adhesive guarantees a durable bond, especially to seals made of EPDM and TPE Rubber. A good inner strength, brilliant long-term stability as well as very good conformability to the bonded surfaces are characteristic attributes of 5608.”As can seen this tape has two different adhesive layers, one of which is applied using pressure and the other using heat. Getting optimal performance out of it requires more than just sticking it down and hoping for the best.VHB double sided tapes are among the best available and used correctly provide a strong permanent bond. They take up to 48 hours to reach full strength and once cured they are very difficult to remove. The unused roll of tape has a shelf life of two years.
