Review: VERDICTRecommendedWHYThe blue whale switches feel pretty awesome and I think I like them better than red switches. The overall design is pretty good and I like the layout, colors RGB lighting and the speaker knob. The only issues are the keyboard is constructed of plastic so if you twist it, it will give. Also if you press too hard the keyboard will deflect, bend down – although that is not something that you would normally do anyway. The other issue is pressing the volume knob should call up the media player when the regular function I’d expect is to trigger mute/unmute. Overall, it’s a great starter keyboard. It even has 3 modes of connections: wired, bluetooth, dongle.

Review: I’ve tried a number of high end mechanical gaming keyboards in the past and was underwhelmed by the performance of the keys. Some clicky, some less, but the amount of pressure wasn’t just right. Or there was detectable friction. I just poor dimensions causing restrictive keystrokes.I decided on the MageGee SKY81 for its smaller form factor and layout. It also had the best connectivity options. Others lacked the USB to USB option while charging, only for charging thus causing down time. What’s the point?The one chosen was the purple model for its lighter pantone and muted look. The trade off I discovered is the loss of contrast and ease of reading the keys. The backlit feature doesn’t shine through for easy reading in the dark. The backlighting is decorative only.Quality of the keyboard is excellent. Very solid construction and heft. No hollowness during operation.The keys are very slick, no friction when struck.NOTE: the key caps were not installed all the way on some and were scattered all over the box! Snapping them back on fixed the keyboard.The keyboard is compact, ideal for storing for transport, and for small desks.The keys were a pleasure to type on, and I was able to efficiently test them typing a document. A relief!It has been the top performing gaming keyboard among the ones I’ve tried and own. There are a few options to theme some of the keys. I chose to forego.My only criticism is the keys should have used a higher contrast font color. White on the muted off-white caps is totally camouflaged. But it still is a very satisfactory high quality product.

Review: This keyboard reminds me of a Royal kludge keyboard. It’s hot swappable which is great and comes with extra switches and keycaps. When it got here there was a couple of keycaps not attached to the board which should’ve been a sign since it most likely left the manufacturing facility like this. Upon opening it I noticed that the control button didn’t change rgb at all. The board nor the box is damaged, so this is a quality control issue or a setting issue that we cannot figure out. Pass on this keyboard and go for a RK for a budget board or an EPOMAKER.
