Title: Let down by the finishing
Review: This Uniharpa magnetic knife block is a bit of a mixed bag.The design of the packaging and the protection that it offers to the contents are superb. However, the brand (Uniharpa) representing the manufacturer (Uniharpa) supply a product branded ‘Resafy’.Within the box is the two part knife block, protected by plastic and foam inserts, a quality screwdriver, four screws and a 1 year warranty card.I was impressed by the presentation, I was impressed by the packaging, but when I removed the two part knife block I instantly noticed some blemishes on the surface. On closer inspection these blemishes appear to be glue and some dents. Additionally, the edges are a mix of smooth finish and saw cut / wood grain.It is perhaps unfortunate that the matt black surface finish on the Acacia wood does highlight these imperfections, but the manufacturer chose the finish, not me.Assembly is a simple matter of screwing in the three screws. I question the wisdom of the screws going in straight with the grain, inserts may have been better.Assembled, the knife block sits nicely on four non slip feet and the magnetic grip is actually very good, is on both sides and knives attach with a nice ‘thwack’. They then sit flat and secure.I note that the product box states ‘small wood defects do not affect the use’ but there is a world of difference between natural defects and poor finishing.

Title: Very strong magnet, but..
Review: Pros- very strong magnet, wide blade creates stronger force- fairly nice finish on the woodCons- different brand on the box- some areas of the finish could be better- there is a gap between the two boards- pilot holes could be a little wider for the screws providedFirstly, very strong magnet! I have no doubts this will hold some wider heavier knives. I have a pretty heavy clever that got sucked onto it faster than any of my other knifes. So it scores at least a 4 star, if not 5 for the magnet strength.However..Different brand on the box, doesn’t mean too much sometimes though so take this with a pinch of salt.Though the finish is smooth and good around most of it. There’s a couple of spots that look not done to that same level of quality. Could be better.There is a gap between the two boards, this could be because of the pilot holes not being deep enough, the pilot holes being too thin for the wood type or a mixture of both. But it could also be warped wood. Which for forty quid, I’d expect better than that. The former options could be corrected to help the wood pull together but the latter is more of a difficult fix.As far as I’m concerned. It does it’s job but it’s an average experience for the cost of forty quids. I’m not sure how well it’s going to hold up over time. It does it’s job but I think the cons pull it down because of the cost. A hefty price for a subpar quality level.If you don’t care about those things and just want the assurance of a strong magnet? Then yeah! Go for it. Maybe I also didn’t get the best representational version of the product either and maybe yours is spot on. This one definitely needs some DIY adjustments to see if it corrects the issues.

Title: Solid Knife Block functional and attractive (but check measurements)
Review: This solid and heavyweight knife block requires a small amount of assembly to fit the base to the block itself. It arrives with a Phillips screwdriver and 4 screws (for 3 holes). I like it when companies do this as it ensures that you are unlikely to lose a screw and if you do, it’s alright. I put this together in 5 minutes.The base has 4 protective pads to sit on your worktop. I’m not quite sure why the product description because it does not measure that. As per one of the photographs the actual knife block element is 11.5 in length and 8.5 in height, which you might want to check if you were thinking of putting and big chefs knife’s or cleavers on it. For context the base measures 12.75 inches length just over 4.5 inch depth and 3/4 inch high.Never the less this compact and decent piece of black stained acacia wood has a strong magnet hidden in it which allows you to attach knives to both sides of the block. The benefit of this to the slotted knife block I had is that you can see your knives you are selecting easily and is actually quite nice and easy to move around the workspace. An added bonus I think is that this is going to be so much easier to clean than the traditional slotted block I had before. Just a wipe over with a cloth will do the business. As I stacked this up I noticed that the magnet is weaker at one end of the board than the other so you can’t quite fill the boardI removed the knife block I had which was bigger and held 7 knives and used this which takes less space and is currently holding 12 knives. This block is priced at £39.99 when I reviewed it. This is a decent price for a block like this with a strong magnet I think. At the time of reviewing there was also a 10% voucher which would make this even more appealing. It’s a great product but I’m taking 1 star off as the measurements on the page wasn’t quite accurate and the magnet is not quite centred on the board.

Title: Handy knife block
Review: This knife block is handy with magnets on both sides. Easy to put knives on and hang them to dry. More hygienic than slotting type of knife blocks. Knives are secure with magnets reasonably strong but still need this to be away from knocks as they could fall.
