Title: Great Image and Ergonomic – At a cracking price!
Review: I have used many monitors over the years, and purchased this ViewSonic VG2439SMH recently. Arrived next day, all in tact and well protected. Assembly of the height adjustable stand took 30 seconds and plugged my notebook in via hdmi. Auto detected and was up and running in probably two minutes from opening the box, couldn’t be easier. All the usual colour, brightness, contrast adjustments to personalise as well.So first the image quality – I personally cant fault this HD display. It’s crystal clear and great vibrant colour reproduction. After a full day of working with the screen, the flicker free and blue light technology make it so much easier on the eye. Cant fault it.Ergonomics – at this price point, you are lucky to find a height adjustable stand, let alone a decent image, so the fact that it’s part assembled in box makes it very easy to simply attach the base. The height adjustment range would cover most desk or chair deviations that you would normally expect and holds the position firmly. Then to really make it totally ergonomic, they add tilt and swivel adjustment as well. Again cant be faulted.Audio – well, no better than a decent notebook, but to be honest if you are critiquing speaker quality on a monitor at this price point, your expectations are wrong.You really can’t go wrong with this screen. Top drawer Viewsonic, credit to you for a great unit at this price point.My only tiny improvement would have been to have produced a slightly thinner bezel, but that me being really picky.

Title: Great picture quality
Review: An excellent monitor with good picture quality – sound is nothing spectacular, but better than the cheap speakers I was using before & adequate for what I use the computer for.A note on connection:With the previous monitor I was using DVI-D. As this monitor doesn’t have that & my graphics card doesn’t have a DisplayPort output I went for the obvious choice & used HDMI. The picture quality was well below acceptable standards – unsharp & with colours bleeding over into one another; the problem was solved by using VGA. This may only be a problem with my graphics card (AMD Radeon HD4540) but it’s worth a try if anyone else has similar problems.

Title: Easy to set up
Review: I’m using this with my PC but am not gaming, so can’t comment on that. I’m also using my own speakers, so don’t know how the sound is. The picture is great with no dead pixels. It’s easy to adjust with the buttons, but I had to rub talc into the numbers so I could see them! I couldn’t get the displayport cable to work – the screen was randomly going black – so I used a VGA cable and it works well. (I think my old graphics card might be at fault even tho it was meant to be compatible.) Shame I can’t use the displayport, as that’s meant to provide a better picture. My box was missing the VGA cable but I contacted Amazon customer services and one was promptly sent to me.

Review: The monitor looked ok – not as quality looking or as sturdy as other monitors this price. It was not compatible with using with my work lap top so I was unable to use it. Although I said it was incompatible there was no service to support a way around this so I had to return it. very disappointing to see that the company takes a 10% deduction off original price I paid that they say is because it was not returned as new – also the return post that I also had deducted.I am not happy about this outcome.I feel that this is unfair and that the item was not used.I will certainly not be buying or recommending that anyone that I know will be using you ever again.Your marking is misleading and unclear – it is misleading not to be clear about this and not to specify what ‘as new’ means to you.This product will be sold on and no loss will be made.

Title: Missing HDMI cable, base feels poor quality. Have to return it not sure I’ll order replacement.
Review: Missing cables, the box contains no HDMI but it is listed as an included cable. I cannot use it on the device I purchased it for. Now need to pack it all up and return, poor effort. Very light base doesn’t feel great quality. Still deliberating on whether I would order replacement.
