Title: Okay for light use
Review: Used this a couple of times for some console modding and household repairs. It’s fine for occasional use when you need somthing cheap. Temp controls arent massively accurate but it’s MUCH better than an iron without controls.If you’re going to be using it alot though, strongly recommend spending more for a higher quality tool.

Title: Well built & put together.
Review: After having oxidised the tips on 3 different soldering irons, I decided to get a temparature controlled one. Because I had 3 irons already I didnt want to spend too much money hence I bought this which was competitively priced.Used it last night to solder motor winding on my vaccum cleaner and the whole process was so much easy and smooth. No more plugging/unplugging the soldering iron to prevent it from getting too hot and oxidising the tip.Its handy to know the melting point of the wire you are using and set the control, that will stop the iron tip from oxidising/carbonising and make soldering easier, cleaner and smarter. The iron is a good build alongwith the regulator and the iron stand. Smart bit of Kit.

Title: Couldn’t replace the Tip
Review: It clearly states in the manual that you should be able to extract the factory installed tip & replace with a new one just be unscrewing by hand – no pliers!I don’t know if mine was just faulty or not but I followed the instructions & the tip just kept turning inside the main barrel enclosure & would not release. Subsequently after removing the 3 retaining screws & looking at the wiring the 2 very brittle white heater element connection wires had snapped off rendering the iron completely useless. Lasted less than a month. But it is super cheap soo…

Review: All I wanted was a simple iron for occasional use that does not overheat circuit boards. This does exactly that. It comes with a nice sturdy stand and good heatproof handle. For less than 20 Quid whats not to like!
