Title: Works well and lasts a long time
Review: Originally bought this make & model in the early 1990s and used it well. When it finally broke last week – bought another exactly the same – as its works well and lasts a long time.

Title: Good value
Review: This iron replaced my thirty year old iron. The mains lead is rather heavy and stiff. You have to wrestle with it until you get the right angle.

Title: A great soldering iron that is an order of magnitude better …
Review: Echoing what others have said here. A great soldering iron that is an order of magnitude better than the raft of cheap irons I have bought over the years which have all just stopped working. This iron makes DIY soldering soooo much easier than the cheaper ones.I shall note that the tip is not compatible with the tips of previous irons I have had (which side into the iron). This one sides over the iron.My only gripe, and it is quite a large one, is that the iron is very light in weight meaning the cable is able to drag the iron around when in use. Although not the end of the world it is a PITA when attempting intricate soldering work. I believe Antex sell another similar iron with a silicon cable that doesn’t have this issue, although is abit more expensive. Worth it? Probably, if you are are going to use it any more than occasionally. With the exception of the light iron/heavy cable issue – a great iron and I wish I’d bought one sooner.

Title: My favorite general purpose soldering iron
Review: I have had a few Antex soldering irons over the years, the 25W ones have been great for general purpose electrical/electronics soldering. The only thing I don’t like is the heavy electrical flex which can be like the tail wagging the dog, but I can forgive it this.

Title: Dissapointing
Review: I previously used a Margaret Beale soldering iron which was perfect. Fine point on nib, worked perfectly for textile soldering. This however, and despite ordering a fin tip as the one ordered came with a chisel nib, was not fine enough. Probably suitable for soldering other than textiles, but would advise against buying this if its textiles you want it for.

Title: Recommended
Review: This is a fantastic soldering Iron. Was recommended to me for eurorack DIY kits by other enthusiasts and experts. Does the job very well, although takes a bit of time to heat up initially.Don’t forget to leave some tin on the tip, otherwise it gets a bit brown and does not heat up very well (unless you clean it)You can also go to bed feeling good, that you have supported a “Made in England” product

Review: Comprato a novembre scorso.
