Title: Used for a Seagate Desktop Expansion Drive 3tb
Review: Have some old archive drives that I use every year as Back-ups of Last Resort for files and pictures. Like many I lost the original power supply for one of them (A Seagate Desktop Expansion 3tb). Which needs a 12v 2a supply with a 2.5mm jack. This was a reasonably priced replacement though I feel it could have been cheaper as I personally think these things shouldn’t be more than £10.Set up was simple – just attach the necessary jack head to the one on the end of the power cable and then plug it in. Plugged in and worked fine allowing me to back up this past half-year (next one will be in January). This was about 3-4 hours of continued use and now it lives back in the drawer until January 2023.Interestingly though; long term I feel that getting cloud storage may be the best option. It’s reliable enough now that access isn’t really a problem for me (everywhere I go has some kind of internet access) and for what I store on these drives it may be the better option. It’s continually getting cheaper and and some archive/backup services will, for a small fee, will send out a harddrive/hardware you can use to restore your collection anyway so if you wanted a cold copy to store in a cupboard you can have that anyway without needing to worry about lost power supplies.

Title: Useful unit with lots of adapter heads but no instructions or guide
Review: The unit does what it’s supposed to, and works fine with my old WD drive (which is what I bought it for), but it’s complete guesswork as to which plug to use because there’s no guide and no indication on the plugs themselves.And since there’s no container for the “spares”, they’re the sort of things you’ll discover 5 years later at the back of a drawer and wonder what the heck they belong to.

Title: Perfect replacement power lead for my Seagate hard drive
Review: I purchased the Seagate expansion hard drive several years ago, but whilst I hadn’t used it since 2021, it did contain many important files.The original supplied power lead was fairly flimsy as well as not being UK compliant. When I tried using the drive, it failed to power up. So, I needed a repalcement power lead and this one seemed to be the best option. Having plugged in the correct tip from the range of tips included, the drive powered up first time and I was able to access all my files.
